RE: Radio Hum

If it's 60 Hz hum, then you have a bad ground somewhere. Check that the radio chassis is grounded to the trailer and that the speaker connections are good.
How do I know if it is a 60 HZ?
An oscilloscope. But I would take his word for it. Mine does the same thing and only on the radio and not the cd player. It's not that bad so I live with it. I haven't gone around and checked the grounds but I'm sure that's what it is. I would start with the big giant generator ground to the frame/chassis of your trailer. These grounds should be 2.5 milliohms or less.

RE: Gearbox Rear Ramp Door Touch-Up Paint

I'm talking about the white paint on the exterior of the door and the surrounding frame. I've had some paint flake off due to a little nick and then some rust. Not too bad but I need to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Gearbox Rear Ramp Door Touch-Up Paint

I'm in need of some touch-up paint for the rear door of my Gearbox. I got in contact with Fleetwood and it will take an eternity if I ever get it. I was wondering if anyone was able to touch-up their rear door using some Krylon or something. I checked around SoCal and no one seems to be mixing spray can paint any longer. I'm sure it's an emission thing.

RE: Got an electrical issue with my toy hauler....

I would check the voltage at the generator and the circuit breakers in the coach first as I posted previously. If you're pulling down the generator voltage, then a new gennie might work. If you're not, and the gennie is still putting out 115volts, it's not your problem. You could have a loose connection at a breaker, term strip, etc. that is just getting exacerbated by high temps.

RE: Got an electrical issue with my toy hauler....

OK, so I found a wiring diagram. My buddy seems to think the eBay thing will work, since the two 110V outlets are on separate circuits...
There are two circuit breakers, so what do you guys think? Anyone?
How does this change things? Or does it?
You are now "above my paygrade" as Obama said. :B I don't know but it looks like POOF! to me. Let us know how it works out.
There is no such thing as a perpetual motion machine. Beemerphile1, you may not understand but you do have some common sense!;)
This plug isn't going to make 'more' power.

RE: Weekend Warrior - Parts

Saw this release on www.gnccracing.com
For Immediate Release:
An ex-Warrior General Manager has taken the opportunity to create a new business catering specifically to the brands customers who may be feeling a little left out in the cold after the company's demise.
Without wasting a second, Larry Broyles has conceived and opened "Warrior Lifestyles RV Store", a Weekend Warrior and Ragen certified parts and service center that will offer all current and obsolete RV parts, as well as on site, certified service out of their Perris, CA location. Warrior Lifestyles will also offer a new website; http://www.warriorlifestylesrvstore.com/, which will make the entire RV parts catalog available to everyone, everywhere.
The closing of Warrior Manufacturing has been a major shock to the RV community. However, Warrior Lifestyles aims to continue serving the thousands of valuable Weekend Warrior and Ragen customers out there who still want to keep their trailers looking great. Please check out http://www.warriorlifestylesrvstore.com/today for more information.
Think he'll honor his warranty for the people that bought his trailers?

RE: Got an electrical issue with my toy hauler....

How long is the cord that goes from the generator to the trailer? What gauge wire is the extension cord? It sounds like you have excessive voltage drop from the gennie to the trailer. When the extension cord sits in the hot sun, the resistance goes up in the cord itself also. If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage at the circuit breaker panel and one of the outlets on the gennie. If they are different, lower at the circuit breaker panel of course, you may want to buy a bigger gauge cord.
The 20AMP circuit isn't going to 'make' any more power than the 15 AMP circuit. If the breaker was popping, then I would say it may be worth a shot.

RE: Tips on setting up Prodigy controller...

When the brakes get warm, a lot changes. I do not think there is anything you can do about it. If you set it initially with the brakes hot, it may not work very well when they cool off down the hiway. I think we may notice it more here in SoCal because of our stop-n-go traffic on Friday evenings heading out to the dez or Glamis. I reset the boost to 1 or 0 when in traffic.

RE: La Mesa RV dearlership closing.

My experience with the RV industry has been poor. It seems as though the dealers aren't interested in keeping satisfied customers and the quality of the units that are being produced is poor. Maybe I just expect too much. With that kind of experience and a lacking economy, people will just find something else to do. I'm sure there are high quality units being produced with very good dealershiops and they will stay in business.

Gearbox Rear Ramp Door Paint

I got with the Fleetwood people about touching up the paint on the rear ramp door. They don't sell the paint, but the door manufacturers can supply an aerosol can of touch up paint. The bad part is I would have to go to an rv dealer, who orders it from Fleetwood, Fleetwood orders it from ramp door manufacturer, ramp door manufacturer sends to Fleetwood, Fleetwood sends to rv dealer. That may take a year. It's a regular white door. Any suggestions? Has anyone else 'touched up' their rear ramp door?

RE: Onan Generator Oil Leak

It may be the crankcase vent but it looks as though it plugs into a carb diaphragm. Does that make sense? I may just have to take it apart. I wonder if anyone has an online diagram or service manual I can look at.

Onan Generator Oil Leak

I have a gas Onan Marquis Gold 5500 generator on a 2004 toyhauler. It has had a small oil leak since almost new. It looks as though it is coming from a small tube/line above the carburator. This line feeds into a diaphragm connecting to some carb linkage. I have no idea if this line is a vent line or what. At first, I thought it was the low oil pressure line that would shut the gennie off. I don't think that's what it does. Any ideas what the line and the diapragm are for? I don't want the mess anymore in the gennie.

RE: Arizona Off-Roaders Kill Their Own Area

Don't believe a $%& damn word Daniel Patterson says. He used to be the guy at the CBD, center for biological diversity. He and his past organization are the only reason for the non-sensical partial closure of the Glamis Dunes area.

RE: Tie Downs on Raptor walls.

I used some Cobra panel door drillers (see photo) these were short enough not to push against the outside wall. Ideally look at your rig when its early in the morning and see if you can mark the dew lines then use those to pinpoint an aluminum stud.

Yguy, that's right!!! I forgot about the dew lines in the morning. Smart thinkin'!

I have a 30FS and you probably have all the hook-ups already there for a BBQ. Just make sure there is room between the door and awning arm.RVQ
